Dental Staff

Ben loves living in Juneau! He has lived in Alaska since 2004 along with his wife, April, and their four children. Growing up in the Midwest, he has always enjoyed hiking, fishing, and just about anything in the outdoors. When the Gilberts found Juneau, they knew it was the right place for their family.

After high school, Ben lived for two years in Argentina as a missionary. He still likes to practice speaking Spanish when he travels annually on dental service trips to Central America. Dr. Gilbert studied at Brigham Young University before being accepted to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is a member of the ADS, ADA, AGD, and the Academy of LDS Dentists.

Abby was raised in Sitka where her love for the Southeast Alaska lifestyle was established. In 2006, she began her work in the dental field as a Dental Assistant and quickly became passionate about dentistry. She pursued a career as a Dental Hygienist and graduated in 2011 from Carrington College Portland, where she received her Associate of Science Degree. She returned to Alaska and since then, she and her husband have called Juneau home. Abby joined Dr. Gilbert’s practice in 2014. She is enthusiastic and dedicated to her profession with her main goal being to give her patients the best care possible. She devotes her free time to her new bundle of joy, a baby boy who joined their family in May 2016.

Wendy moved to Juneau in 1999 and joined the office in 2001. One of her favorite things to do at the office is work with insurances companies to make sure they pay the full amount they should on each claim. She followed the whales in Juneau and loves being out on the water. She is originally from Portland, OR and went to Colorado State University. Wendy is married and her adorable twins keep her very busy. She especially love to work in the yard and go on dates with her husband when she can.

Cindy is a long time Juneau resident who got her start in dentistry in Fairbanks in 1988. The highlight of her 28 year dental career has been using her experience and knowledge in dentistry to help people. She has two grown children and one in high school. She has fun volunteering in the school’s activities, especially rooting her daughter on in volleyball and softball. If you are ever seeking out a new trail to hike, ask Cindy, as she is an avid hiker and outdoors person. She never goes a day without walking one of the beautiful trails Juneau has to offer. She spends her personal time gardening and her on the go attitude keeps her excitedly seeking the next big adventure for her and her husband Tom.

Julie is the sunshine of our office, bringing it with her all the way from Los Angeles, CA where she started her dental career. Her bright and cheery attitude is of contagious nature as she is always greeting everyone with her comforting smile. She’s been keeping people smiling here in Juneau since 1988. Being a part of the practice for the past 26 years she is an expert at helping people with their dental needs. Julie enjoys spending her free time with her twin sons and family. She has quite the green thumb and loves to garden in the summer. Her favorite activities are hiking, fishing, traveling, and cross country skiing.

Stephanie is a Southern California native. She and her boyfriend came to Alaska for an adventure and have been Juneau residents for almost two years. Exploring the trails and making wild berry preserves are some of her favorite hobbies. Her passion for dentistry has grown in the past 7 years as she has assisted chair side with dentists of all specialties. She received her formal dental assistant training at Everest College in California. As our Patient Coordinator she especially enjoys being a part of Dr. Gilbert’s dental dream team and helping his patients conveniently schedule their visits with us.

Annette was born and raised in Oregon and went on to attend Dental Hygiene School in Eugene. There she graduated with her Associates Degree in Applied Science.Annette joined Dr. Gilbert’s team in 2017 but has called Juneau home since 1992. Her and her husband Bob have 4 kids and a grandson who they adore and travel to go spend time with him.Her favorite outdoor activities are hiking, camping, and cross- country skiing. Annette plays piano and has a secret talent for crafting! She is humble, thoughtful, and takes pride in getting to know her patients and their personalities while always striving to give them the best care possible.
